Accomadation and Tariffs
The refuge has a capacity of 35 places divided between the dormitories with nine additional places available in tents installed on the terrace (intended for snorers and people with dogs). The dormitories, like the tents are equipped with mattresses and covers. It is, none the less, recommended to come equipped with an inner cotton sleeping bag. Disposable sheets are also available at a cost of 3 euros.
The sanitary arrangements consist of one individual washing cabinet and several wash basins but the lack of water on the Désert de Platé does not allow us to install showers!
As soon as the temperature falls, a little wood stove soon warms the ambience as well as the hikers but also allows damp clothes to be dried.
This refuge is also a living place for us… walkers will find books about the mountains, games and a telescope to observe the animals.
The cuisine of the refuge is homely and varied. Because eating well in the mountains is a pleasure, the staff concoct home made dishes: vegetable soup, lasagne or gratin dauphinoise, etc. For the breakfast there are home made jams, with chocolate mousse or mint tea for the afternoon, without forgetting our speciality, apricot tart.
